To find the model of your Playstation... simply turn your playstation
over, and on the top right sticker on the bottom.. it should say:
SCPH xxxx  (xxxx = random numbers)

SCPH-100x - DON"T EVER BUY THIS MODDEL.  It has a screwy CD drive that 
            is made out of plastic.  It will skip when playing FMV's 
            (Full Motion Videos) such as the many of them in Final 
            Fantacy 8. It also was the first model that ever came out.

SCPH-300x - Better... but still crappy as hell.  Belive me... Its an 
            improvement from the 100x series.... but skips very much
            on FMV's and music.--==COMPATIBLE WITH GAME ENHANCER AND
            MODCHIP==--

SCPH-500x - Much improved.  Skipping rarely occurs.  Music still skips
            though.--==COMPATIBLE WITH GAME ENHANCER AND MODCHIP==--

SCPH-700x - Almost no skipping whatsoever.  Music rarely skips.. but
            can still be detected.--==COMPATIBLE WITH GAME ENHANCER
            AND MODCHIP==--

SCPH-900x - Newest model of Playstations.  They now don't have a
            parallel port for the Game Shark or Game Enhancer. (Sony
            caught onto the piracy skeem) So you will have to get a 
	    game enhancer that plugs into the memory card slot (brought
	    to my attention by Geno) or get the system modded (most recommended)
	    If you get your system modded and want to use a gameshark.  You
	    can get a Gameshark CD that can be found at www.gameshark.com
	    or a bootleg copy can be found online in #emulation
